Training Courses during Summer
Over the summer recess of our educators from different subjects have attended training courses around Europe focusing on steam education and Project Based Learning at Europass teacher academy schools. This was only possible thanks to the school's Erasmus plus KA120 accreditation project focusing on the above themes. This helps our school in its mission to offer higher quality education to our students.

Living with Water

The title of the project is "Living with Water: Culture, Innovation and Sustainability in the Netherlands".
Connected Minds

The project titled "Connected Minds - Social Media, Mental Health and Digital Balance" focuses on the benefits of using digital devices and social media platforms responsibly.
The project is fully funded by Erasmus+ funds.
Erasmus+ Project Multiplier Event
On the 17th of October 2025 various educators were invited to the Multiplier Event of the Erasmus Project 2023-1FR01-KA220-SCH-000157806. This seminar served to disseminate innovative tools which include the Manual of Good practices promoting inclusion and reverse -inclusion activities. During this event, all educators, students, and parents became familiar with the STAIRS Erasmus+ project website. In addition, attendees were encouraged to complete a training module on how to utilise the Tangible Digital Story Telling course in bite-sized teaching modules.

Erasmus Day
During our school assembly. Our students, particularly our new entrants, were informed about the school's participation in Erasmus+ projects and the opportunities which are available to them through our accreditation project.
Outdoor Learning
Another teacher at our school, Mr Christian Psaila, also attended a teacher training course in Florence focusing on Outdoor Learning as a way of improving the student learning experience. He is pictured here delivering a presentation describing the participation of our school in various Erasmus+ projects to colleagues from other European schools in Bulgaria, Croatia, Spain and Slovenia..
AI in Education
Andrew Calleja a teacher at our school and head of department Digital Literacy) attended the “AI in Education” course in Reykjavík, Iceland (17–23 August 2025), supported by Erasmus+.
The programme offered practical insights into how AI can enhance teaching and learning. Andrew found it highly relevant and looks forward to sharing what he learned with others.
L-esperjenza f’Dublin (25-29 ta’ Awwissu, 2025)
Fl-Irlanda tħarriġna fil-kors ‘CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) and PBL (Project Based Learning) to motivate students’. Kellna opportunità li nippreżentaw it-tradizzjonijiet u l-kultura Maltija u ndewqu ikel u xorb tipiku Malti bħala parti minn esperjenza multikulturali. Barra minn hekk, bnejna konnessjoniet ma’ skejjel minn pajjiżi differenti li fetħu bibien għall-opportunitajiet ġodda ta’ Erasmus ‘il quddiem għall-iskola tagħna tal-Verdala. Din kienet esperjenza rikka li tpoġġi l-istudenti fiċ-ċentru tat-tagħlim u ngħatajna strateġiji prattiċi li jistgħu jiġu applikati fil-lezzjoniet faċilment sabiex jimmotivaw lill-istudenti jikkollaboraw u jsiru awtonomi fit-tagħlim tagħhom.
Outdoor Learning
School might be out but some of our teachers are attending training courses around Europe as part of the school's KA1 accreditation project. Mr Wesley Mackay, Biology teacher, is currently in Florence attending a course titled Outdoor Learning: from Urban Nature to the Great Outdoors.
