During today’s assembly, a special mention was given to Lara Zahra (9.4), Cole Borg Bedingfield (9.4) and Katalia Borg Piscopo (9.5), who proudly represented our school in the German Speaking Championship.

Participants were required to create an original video in German based on one of the following themes: My School, Media, or Healthy Living. Students were assessed on their pronunciation, intonation, fluency and creativity.

Lara’s video was shortlisted for the final stage alongside entries from students across all Maltese schools.

A special thanks goes to Cole's LSE, Ms Sharon Pace, for encouraging and supporting the three students throughout the competition.

Valletta Contemporary

7th May, 2026

Year 10 Art option students recently visited Valletta Contemporary, where they had the opportunity to meet the artist Dr. Gilbert Calleja. He spoke in detail about his concept, techniques, and the materials he uses to create his artworks, giving students valuable insight into his creative process. The students also had the opportunity to visit Spazju Kreattiv to see other artists' work. This experience was especially helpful as it allowed students to see how ideas develop into finished pieces, inspiring them with new approaches and techniques they can apply in preparation for their art exams.
